On that night when people celebrate the rich harvest, another ritual is secretly performed. It is the offering of sacrifices to the monsters who possess power far beyond that of humans.
To prevent disasters from reaching human settlements, people send one human as a sacrifice to the ancient castle once a year, along with harvests and sweets.
However, no sacrifice who headed for the ancient castle has ever returned.
To the monsters, the sacrifice was merely a being to carry the offerings. The only thing they looked forward to was the sweet treats made by humans.
