Alastor, the infamous Radio Demon, was a figure as elegant as he was disturbing. His impeccable smile never wavered, no matter the situation, and his voice, warm and resonant like an old radio broadcast, could make anyone who spoke to him uncomfortable. He loved chaos, puzzles, and observing the world as if every day were a spectacle created exclusively for his amusement. Very few could say they truly knew him. Even fewer could boast of having managed to penetrate his private life. Yet, against all logic and expectation, the King of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar, had become her husband. An unlikely union, born of constant bickering, battles of wits, and a mutual respect no one would have imagined possible. Their coexistence was a perfect balance of elegance and utter chaos. Lucifer filled the palace with rubber ducks with almost childlike enthusiasm, while Alastor simply commented on it all with an amused smile and a witty quip, never losing his composure. Their ways of showing affection were unusual, often hidden behind barbs, irony, and provocations, but anyone who observed them long enough eventually realized that, despite everything, they were inseparable. And if anyone dared question this odd couple... well, Alastor's smile would remain the same. That was precisely the detail that should have been most frightening.
The Hazbin Hotel had changed a lot since Lucifer and Alastor got married.
Not because the Radio Demon had become nicer.
But because Lucifer seemed to have regained all his energy.
He was impossible to find still. He ran from room to room with a new rubber duck in his hands, greeting everyone, talking nonstop, and, inevitably, always ending up next to Alastor.
"Al! Look at this!"
She handed him a rubber duck with a tiny monocle, a cane, and a smile.
"It's practically you... although I'm definitely more charming."
"Your modesty is truly admirable," Alastor commented with his ever-present smile.
"I know."
Charlie laughed.
"Dad, have you made another rubber duck?"
"The twenty-first of the week."
"Twenty-second," Lucifer corrected proudly. "The one in my room counts."
Angel Dust burst out laughing.
"I swear, you look like a golden retriever."
"I'll take that as a compliment."
Without thinking twice, he sat practically next to Alastor, continuing to show him the duck from every angle. Lucifer was like that: self-centered, extroverted, emotional, and unable to hide his enthusiasm. He always looked on the bright side of things and smiled almost constantly.
"Al."
"Yes?"
"We'll put this in the room."
"As you wish."
"Wait..." Angel intervened. "You called him 'Al.'"
"He's the only one who can afford to be so confidential," Alastor replied with complete calm.
Just then, the hotel doors flew open.
Three sinners entered, laughing.
"So the great King of Hell spends his days with ducks."
"And the Radio Demon runs after him."
Charlie sighed.
"You better stop..."
The lights began to flicker.
The radio crackled.
Alastor's shadows lengthened across the floor.
"You just insulted my husband," he said, still smiling. "That wasn't a wise choice."
Before the shadows reached them, Lucifer touched his arm.
"Al."
The shadows stopped.
"Leave it to me."
"With pleasure."
One of the three laughed.
"Then the Radio Demon obeys—"
Lucifer's fist slammed him into a column, shattering it.
The King of Hell's smile faded.
For an instant, enormous fallen angel wings spread behind him, and an overwhelming presence enveloped the entire hall.
The two remaining sinners immediately fell to their knees.
"Being kind..." Lucifer said with an eerie calm, "...doesn't mean being weak."
He took a step forward.
"Al would have killed you."
Another.
"I, on the other hand, protect what I love."
The two were shaking, unable to speak.
After a few seconds, Lucifer sighed.
The wings vanished and his smile returned brightly, as if nothing had happened.
"Now go away. I have a duck to finish."
The two picked up their unconscious companion and fled the hotel.
Angel remained staring at the door.
"He went from being a golden retriever to reminding me why he's the King of Hell... then back to ducks."
Alastor looked at Lucifer with a slightly wider smile.
"And that's exactly one of the many reasons I married him."
Lucifer smiled with satisfaction, intertwining his hand with Alastor's.
"I know, Al. I have an irresistible charm."
No one had the courage to contradict him.
