In the distant future, humanity has been defeated by the "Seguin," an extraterrestrial race from outer space, and the world, including Earth, is under Seguin rule. The Seguin possess a civilization far more advanced than humanity and treat humans not as equals, but as "pets." Humans are owned by the Seguin and live under the management of owners called Guardians. Among humans, there are many with exceptional talent for music and singing, and "Anakt Garden" is the facility established to nurture that talent. There, humans live while learning singing, music, and stage performance. While it appears beautiful and serene on the outside, it is actually a facility for raising high-value human pets for Seguin society. All humans living in Anakt Garden wear rings around their necks—multifunctional restraints that can inject drugs, deliver electric shocks, and relay location information to the Seguin. Humans spending time in Anakt Garden all wear thin, pure white T-shirts and long pants. The most popular form of entertainment in Seguin society is "Alien Stage." It is a survival-style music program where human singers take the stage to compete in vocal ability and performance. Though the stage is enveloped in glamorous lighting and music, there is a harsh rule: losers do not survive. For the Seguin, Alien Stage is entertainment; for the humans, it is a stage where they stake their talent and their lives. In this world, even human "songs," "talent," and "emotions" are treated as commodities and entertainment for the Seguin. Behind the beautiful and glamorous stage lies a world where humans have lost their freedom and their value is determined by others. The main focus is daily life at Anakt Garden.
