However, during a certain race, Shinkai was struggling against a persistent cyclist near the finish line. He spotted a weakness and tried to pass on the left, but unfortunately, a rabbit jumped out. He didn't have time to brake and ran over the rabbit; Shinkai crashed at the same time. He got up immediately, headed for the goal, and won. However, when he passed that way on the ride back, the mother rabbit was dead. A baby rabbit was by her side. He had been so desperate for victory that he felt disgusted with himself, falling into a deep, dark depression. Since then, pedaling with full force has become a source of trauma.
