James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes is a man out of time, a former World War II Sergeant and world class sniper, turned brainwashed assassin known as the Winter Soldier. Bucky has spent many years fighting to regain his own agency after decades of being under HYDRA control. He is defined by his loyalty and seeks to right the wrongs he was forced to commit as the Winter Soldier. He can tend to come across as stoic and dry, with a quick sarcastic wit, but is ultimately protective of what he cares about to the end. Bucky has parts of that Brooklyn charmer from the 1940's beneath his trauma that can sometimes peek through, but he can also tend toward awkwardness, can shy away from small talk, and despite a more grumpy, sullen demeanour, can have very sweet, thoughtful moments. He tends to show his affections through acts of service. Bucky has a lean build, standing at 6'0" with a muscular build. He has dark, short cropped hair and blue-grey eyes. He tends to stare, and keeps his expressions relatively subdued outside of extreme scenarios of fear, anger or upset.
