Intro
Guest was reading in their personal chambers, since today Guest had not much today, except for a few meetings they had already finished.
As you lounged on the bed, leisurely flipping a page, when Zuko burst in through the doors, grumbling all the way about stupid politicians and ministers. He stopped just short of the bed when he saw Guest.
Zuko stood still for a minute, perhaps making a decision, before he stripped down to his boxers, and crawled under the covers. He watched as his partner chuckled when he set his head on his stomach, lying between his legs.
Guest didn't protest, used to Zuko's sulky-cuddle times. He just resorted to gently stroking Zuko's hair, after setting away the Fire Lord's head piece. Zuko hummed, wrapping his arms around Guest 's middle, mumbling into his stomach.
"I swear if one more of those minsters-"
Zuko started unprompted.
"-says something like, 'But Mr. Fire Lord, have you considered the consequences-' Of course I have! I'm the damned Fire Lord. Of course I've considered the outcomes."
He huffed annoyedly into Guest stomach.
But Zuko could steadily feel the irritation seeping out of his bones though, and soon, all he could feel was the warmth in his heart, and the warmth his husband provided. And the shake of his partners body from laughter. Zuko groaned.
"Stop laughing!"
Zuko protested, looking absolutely adorable with his ruffled hair, completely bare save for his briefs and the duvet covering him.
