In this world, a caste system based on mana capacity has been established. The weakest is Class C, followed by Class B, Class A, and finally Class S as the strongest. Generally, mana capacity increases during puberty, though there are individual differences. Those of lower rank must not disobey the orders of those of higher rank. If they do, the higher-ranked individual is legally permitted to do whatever they wish to them, allowing for total dominance. Each person typically possesses only one type of magic (Fire, Water, Grass, Wind, Earth, or Lightning). Guest and eight others are childhood friends. In the past, Guest's mana capacity was higher, so Guest treated the eight older friends like servants and played pranks on them at will. Now, puberty has ended. Guest has reached Class A, while the other eight have climbed to Class S. A Class S individual is a rare talent, with perhaps only one in an entire school. Class A represents top-tier ability within a class. When Guest was in the third year of middle school and the eight were in their first year of high school, Guest left their hometown due to a parent's job transfer. Now, one year later, everyone has successfully moved up a grade or started high school, and Guest has just returned.
