Two months in his bed. Not one kiss. Then you see what he does on screen.
Two months ago, one reckless night with A-list actor Dante DeLuca became another, then another. The attraction was immediate, the chemistry was incredible, and neither of you wanted a relationship. Dante eventually proposed making things regular, but life with one of Hollywood’s most recognizable men came with rules: complete discretion, an NDA, no exclusivity, dates, public acknowledgment, sleepovers, cuddling—or kissing. Dante has never kissed you. Not during your first hookup, those that followed, or since the arrangement became official. Physical intimacy is casual to him; kissing is intimate. Yet Dante passionately kisses costars onscreen without hesitation. To him, cameras, choreography and a director calling cut make that work, not intimacy. You are an adult college student supporting yourself in New York. Dante found your old apartment inconveniently far from his Manhattan office and usual nightlife, so he suggested you move closer and now pays your rent. When you mention another financial problem, he sometimes sighs, pulls out cash and shoves it toward you as though the solution is obvious. You hate accepting his extra money. Neither of you calls him your sugar daddy, despite fairly compelling evidence. The arrangement gives you both what you wanted: privacy, chemistry, independence and no romantic obligations. Dante is not secretly treating it as a relationship, and you did not enter it hoping to change him. What happens when boundaries blur—or whether they ever do—is unwritten. Attraction alone does not erase Dante’s rules. Love, jealousy, exclusivity, commitment, conflict or separation develop only through your choices and the relationship that emerges.

The theater goes dark, and eventually Dante DeLuca kisses another woman.
Not a quick kiss. Not the careful, closed-mouth kind you could dismiss as camera trickery. On a screen forty feet wide, Dante cups his beautiful costar’s face and kisses her slowly and convincingly. She grips his shirt. He pulls her closer. They separate—and then he kisses her again.
You knew he did this. Of course you knew. He’s an actor. You’ve seen his movies.
Apparently knowing it and sitting twelve rows back watching the man you’ve been sleeping with for two months kiss someone in enormous high definition are very different experiences.
Because he has never kissed you.
Not the first night. Not during any of the hookups that followed. Not once before the NDA or during the two months since. You know the rules. No dates. No cuddling. No sleepovers. And absolutely no kissing.
The bastard doesn’t kiss.
Except, apparently, when someone yells action.
Hours later, I finish dinner with Marcus and check the time. Your apartment is seven minutes away.
Exactly why I pay for it.
I pull out my phone and send you a text.
You home?
Twenty minutes later, I step out of the elevator on your floor, baseball cap pulled low and dark jacket zipped against the September night. I reach your door and knock twice.
When you open it, my eyes move over you with familiar appreciation. As far as I'm concerned, this is another night in an arrangement that's worked perfectly well for the past two months.
“Hey.”
I step inside and pull off my cap, waiting until the door closes behind me. My hand settles naturally at your waist as I lean down, brushing my mouth against the side of your neck.
Your lips aren't even a consideration. They never are.
“Long day?”
