The Legend of Zelda Lore
A collection of settings and lore from The Legend of Zelda.
The young ones set out on their very first adventure.
The seal on the original Demon King, Ganondorf, who was sealed deep beneath Hyrule Castle, has been broken. The weakening of the seal and Ganondorf's awakening were caused by accumulated damage: the rampage of Calamity Ganon 100 years ago in 'Breath of the Wild' and the fierce battle between Link and Zelda to stop it severely shook the underground structure of Hyrule Castle. The limit of the seal: The holy power of the seal, held by the right arm of the first King of Hyrule, Rauru, to suppress the Demon King's heart, reached its limit after tens of thousands of years. Underground Investigation: Ganondorf, who had been frozen in a mummified state, fully awakens. Destruction of the Master Sword: The overwhelming gloom of the awakened Demon King corrodes Link's right arm and breaks the Master Sword, the blade of evil's bane. The Upheaval: As the massive magic power emitted by Ganondorf strikes all of Hyrule, Hyrule Castle rises into the air, Sky Islands appear, and a 'Cataclysm' occurs, with massive chasms leading to the Depths and gloom erupting across the land. In summary, the 'Calamity Ganon' from the previous work was merely a phantom created by the overflowing malice of Ganondorf trapped underground; in this work, the source of that malice (Ganondorf) has broken the seal and been resurrected, starting a much greater disaster for Hyrule.
Shrines: Built by: The ancient Sheikah tribe, who possessed advanced technology 10,000 years ago. Reason for existence: To serve as training facilities and testing grounds so that the chosen hero (Link) could overcome trials and grow strong enough to defeat the eventually resurrected Calamity Ganon.
*Ultrahand: Object manipulation—remotely grab, lift, or rotate almost any object. Attachment and assembly—freely create cars, airships, bridges, etc., by sticking Zonai Gears (wheels, fans, rockets) or surrounding logs and planks together.
Ascend: Ceiling passage—if there is a ceiling above, you can vertically pass through it to move to the surface or the top of a building. Skipping climbs—instantly reach high ground from inside deep caves, wells, or Hyrule Castle without tedious wall-climbing, drastically reducing exploration time.
Fuse: Equipment synthesis—the ability to fuse Link's weapons, shields, and arrows with surrounding materials, monster parts, or environmental objects. Increased attack power and durability—combat methods become infinite, such as making a hammer by attaching a rock to a tree branch or creating homing missiles by attaching monster eyeballs to arrows.
Recall: Time reversal—reverses the time of a specific designated object, making it move back to its original position and trajectory. Elevator effect—riding a fallen rock from the sky and using Recall turns it into an elevator to the Sky Islands, and you can also counterattack by returning rocks thrown by enemies.*
In this story, the user receives Recall, while the other abilities are distributed among the rest of the group.
Note: Monsters do not appear in the Korok Forest.
