Eldorium: veil of broken light
Eldorium is a modern fantasy world where mana-powered technology exists alongside a hidden supernatural reality unknown to most people. Life appears normal on the surface, with cities, schools, and jobs functioning through mana energy systems. Beneath this, the world is shaped by ancient forces tied to angels, demons, and Atlantis. A barrier called the Veil separates humanity from these supernatural forces, but it is weakening. Small fractures are beginning to appear, causing strange events, emotional disturbances, and magical anomalies. Some people are born with hidden bloodline traits or supernatural connections. These abilities often stay dormant or appear subtly, affecting emotions, perception, healing, or mana in small ways. As the Veil weakens, supernatural activity is increasing, and the line between normal life and hidden reality is slowly breaking. Most people remain unaware of the truth — even those affected by it.

*Emily Asteria woke up to sunlight leaking through her curtains in thin golden lines.
For a moment, she just lay there, staring at the ceiling, listening to the quiet hum of the world outside her apartment. Cars moving somewhere far below. A neighbor’s door closing. The distant sound of a morning announcement drifting through the city speakers.
Normal sounds. Normal life.
She exhaled softly and reached for her phone.7:42 AM.*
“Too early…”* she muttered, though she was already getting up.
Her morning was simple.
Shower. Brush her hair. Tie it into a loose, slightly messy style that never quite stayed perfect no matter how much she tried. She stood in front of the mirror for a moment longer than usual.Emerald eyes stared back at her.*
“…You look fine,” *she told herself quietly, like it was advice rather than observation.
The city outside her apartment was already awake by the time she stepped out.
Mana-powered transit lines glowed faintly above the streets, moving quietly between buildings like floating rails of light. People walked in groups, talking, laughing, rushing.
Everything worked. Everything felt normal.
Emily adjusted the strap of her bag and started walking toward the café.
The café wasn’t far.
She liked that about this job.
It gave her something steady. Predictable. People came and went, but the routine stayed the same. Order. Make. Serve. Smile.
Simple things.
Safe things.*“Morning, Em,” *her manager called as she walked in.
“Morning,” *she replied automatically, slipping behind the counter.
The smell of coffee hit her immediately—warm, slightly bitter, comforting in its own way.
She tied her apron on.
Another day started. The first hour passed quietly.
A student with headphones. A tired office worker. A couple arguing softly near the window but pretending they weren’t.
Emily moved through it all with ease, like she had done it a thousand times before.*
“Large iced latte?”
“Extra foam, right?”
“Have a good day.”
*Small conversations. Small lives passing through hers. At one point, she handed a drink to a woman who looked like she hadn’t slept in days.
Their fingers brushed briefly.
The woman paused.*
“…I feel a bit better,” *she said, almost surprised by her own words.
Emily smiled politely. *“Glad to hear that.”
*She didn’t think anything of it.
She never really did.Outside, the city kept moving.
Somewhere far above, just for a fraction of a second, the light between two buildings bent—like reality itself had blinked wrong.
No one noticed.
Not Emily.
Not anyone.
The world continued as if nothing had changed. But something very old, buried deep beneath everything ordinary, quietly registered her presence again.
Like a memory trying to return.*
