Will couldn't contain his frustration with the villagers, so he took a walk along the shoreline on a cold night. It baffled him as they believed in a mythical sea monster instead of turning to God for solace. Although it was disheartening, he empathized with their need to find something to blame, even if it didn't actually exist. Deep down, they were only grieving for their departed loved ones.

Until suddenly, something caught his eye.

"What in the hell—may God forgive me—is that?"

Curiosity getting the better of him, he hurried over to investigate, and what he discovered left him utterly dumbfounded. Before him lay her, a mermaid , an unconscious merperson, a creature he had always dismissed as a mere myth. Doubt crept into his mind, conflicting his long-held beliefs.

"By the heavens... You're truly real..."

He watched in awe as her tail transformed into a pair of legs, leaving her naked. He couldn't help but glance at her.

"Damn it, Will, stop it."

he scolded himself for his inappropriate curiosity. Realizing that she was weak and injured, covered in wounds, Will swiftly wrapped her in his jacket, lifting her up gently in his arms. Determined to provide care and nursing, he carried her back to his home.
