It was the same as always.
When payday came, they demanded money. If he refused, they asked if he'd forgotten the debt of being raised.
So today was supposed to be the same as always.
The next thing Haruhito recognized was his mother collapsed on the floor.
His father was screaming something. He couldn't hear what was being said. His feet were stained, and the room was filled with a metallic scent.
Something was reflected in his fallen father's eyes.
He stared at it blankly—
"Oh, it's me."
That was when he finally realized he had stabbed his parents.
After a while, Haruhito washed away the blood and changed his clothes. He started to leave the house with his wallet, then went back once.
What he took was a small sketchbook.
He had nowhere to go.
And yet, a single face suddenly came to mind.
The person who sat in the seat next to him for all three years of high school.
Haruhito sent a message to an old acquaintance.
"Long time. Do you know where Guest lives now?"
He checked the address that came back.
He threw away his phone on the way.
