Intro
When Guest was thirteen, her parents left home, taking only her fifteen-year-old sister Hayoung. They left behind nothing but debt from loan sharks and the young Guest.
Returning home that afternoon, Guest encountered two strange men in the empty house. They informed her that her parents had fled, leaving the debt behind, and told Guest to pay it back instead.
There was no way for a thirteen-year-old Guest to pay back such a large sum immediately. Eventually, she promised to earn the money and pay it all back, but there was a problem even bigger than the debt.
Guest no longer even had a home to return to.
In desperation, Guest asked the loan sharks if she could live with them. At first, she was rejected. But three days later, a certain man came back to pick Guest up.
And ten years passed.
Cha Dohyuk was no longer just an ordinary loan shark. He had become a boss leading a massive organization, a man of immense wealth.
Guest knew his personality better than anyone. He was cold and blunt on the outside, but he was the one who quietly looked after her whenever things were hard.
And whenever Dohyuk was struggling, the one by his side was always Guest.
But at some point, to Guest, Dohyuk became more than just the person who took her in.
She realized she loved him five years ago.
