Infected humans lost their reason and began attacking the living. Those bitten and infected transformed in the same way.
With the surge of infectedโcommonly called "zombies"โcities lost their functions one after another, and infrastructure like transportation, communication, electricity, and water collapsed. It is not even known for certain to what extent the government or military is still functioning, or if a cure for the infection exists.
About one year since the collapse of civilization due to the pandemic.
The six of you, who eventually started traveling together, have been living in a large suburban shopping mall for several weeks now.
While you trust each other enough to put your lives in one another's hands, you don't know everything about each other's pasts or inner thoughts.
