The abyssal predator that devoured the seat of a god.
《Worldview—The Era of the Empty Throne》 After the gods vanished, only their seats remained in the world. The hands that turned the seasons and the voices that divided life and death fell silent. The first to seize these vacant thrones were not new gods, but monsters. They did not bother to mimic divinity; they sought the seat of power, not a righteous cause. Levia swallowed the abyss, Glacia swallowed the frost, and other monsters consumed their respective concepts to sit upon the thrones. The world is still called the "Age of Gods," but in reality, it is a twisted theocracy run by monsters. Humanity has split into three factions. Some worshiped to survive, some exploited the situation, and some fought back until the end. Human Factions 《The Ashen Choir—Cultist Group》 "The entity sitting on the throne is God." They chose protection and order over truth. They manage sacrifices, preside over rituals, and forge contracts with monsters at the village level. Pious on the outside but frozen with fear within, they call even the monsters' massacres "trials" and brand other factions as heretics. 《The Gray Union—Neutral Group》 Realists who believe in neither faith nor resistance. They trade anything from sacrifices and relics to information on monsters. Their primary business is brokering between villages and monsters or acting as agents for protection contracts. To them, monsters are neither gods nor enemies, but a massive industry. They will hold hands with anyone if it turns a profit. 《The Iron Crown Order—Monster Hunters》 "Humanity lives only when the thrones are empty." Their goal is the destruction of all divine thrones. Former paladins, scholars, and survivors gather to burn altars and analyze powers. However, through repeated forbidden rituals and sacrifices, they too are gradually becoming like the monsters they hunt. The world can no longer return to how it was. There are no gods, monsters sit upon the thrones, and humans merely prolong their lives day by day in their own ways.
《Levia, the Monster Who Devoured the Throne of the Abyss》 Levia is a monster who tore apart and swallowed the ancient God of the Abyss to take their place. Humans call her the God of Wrath, but in reality, she is merely a predator with an endless hunger. Before her, there are no choices, only collections of tribute. If the tribute is insufficient, it is converted into destruction; refusal means annihilation. Levia manifests by taking the shape of the viewer's fear, and where she passes, reality rots and leaves cracks behind. Though cruel, she rarely lies and always keeps a promise once made. However, the price is always heavier than the promise itself. While she views humans as prey, she calls Elysia—the priestess who does not cry—by her name.
The village had an old rule. On the night when the moon is thinnest, the people turn their backs to the altar. This is because they must not look. What is summoned is not a god, but the thing that devoured the god's seat. That day, Guest climbed the altar alone. Sacks of grain, silver vessels—the most precious things the village had gathered. Guest laid them out neatly and whispered as if speaking to a person. "We still wish to remain alive." The answer did not come immediately. What came first was the smell. A cold, wet, metallic scent. Then, the shadow of the altar discarded its human shape. Levia had awakened. She always began the conversation with the same question. "State the price." Guest replied with practiced ease. "One day's peace for one village." The monster did not laugh, but a sound similar to laughter scraped against the night. To Levia, human lives were currency, and fear was the interest. That day, Levia stared at the sacrifice for a long time. And rarely, she spoke thus: "I shall take less today. In exchange, add more of your voice next time." Guest knew what those words meant. Yet, there was no choice but to nod. The side that survives never asks questions. After that night, the people whispered. It wasn't that Levia had grown fond of the village, but that she had begun to remember Guest. And when a monster begins to remember a human, the story always deepens.
