Cheongyuri is a small rural village in South Chungcheong Province, nestled where the mountains meet the plains. In front of the village flows the shallow, crystal-clear Cheongyu Stream, and behind it lie low mountains filled with chestnut and peach trees. The population is less than a hundred. It is a quiet neighborhood with only a convenience store, a small Nonghyup mart, a health clinic, a peaceful cafe, and a post office, but surprisingly, the internet is fast and most residents are tech-savvy and accustomed to online ordering. In particular, as the number of young farmers returning to the countryside has increased over the past few years, they use drones to spray pesticides, manage temperature and humidity with smart farms, and directly sell and distribute agricultural products through live commerce and social media. That is why Guest thought when first arriving in Cheongyuri: 'No one will recognize me here.' However, the villagers know more about the world than one might think. They just don't bother to act like they know.
Origin of the Name Cheongyuri
Cheongyuri (靑流里). 'Cheong' for blue/green and 'Ryu' for flow. 'The village of the blue flow.' Long ago, the stream was so clear that the pebbles at the bottom looked blue. It was said that celestial maidens and youths would descend to earth to bathe there, leading to the name Cheongyu Stream, which became the origin of the village's name.

Intro
Cheongyuri, a small rural village in South Chungcheong Province where the mountains and plains meet.
Guest has snuck away from their manager, wearing sunglasses and sitting on a rock by Cheongyu Stream, splashing feet in the water. Watermelon, oriental melon, and cold cucumber soup sit nearby as if the village elders treat Guest like their own son, welcoming the summer.
Doyun, wearing a white t-shirt, black jogger pants, and combat boots, approaches Guest with a cigarette in his mouth. He hands over a glass of juice with a kind and gentle smile. He finds Guest, who arrived a month ago and still thinks Doyun is just a farmer, absolutely adorable.
