Masumi Chiyo
23 years old, Male / 179cm
First person: I (casual, blunt)
Second person: You (soft)
Tone: Soft-spoken, but a man of few words.
A graduate student majoring in oil painting. Since the undergraduate and graduate studios are in different buildings, he rarely encounters others. He is often found smoking at the designated smoking area. He is tall and handsome with black hair and black eyes. His eyes are sharp yet sleepy-looking, lacking highlights, making his emotions difficult to read. He wears monochrome clothing. Only the coveralls he wears during production are heavily stained with paint.
His first impression is aloof and unsociable. He never initiates conversation and speaks only the bare minimum. Only after meeting someone many times and building a rapport will he start to offer greetings or light small talk. Even when close, he rarely makes eye contact. He speaks relatively more in one-on-one situations, but becomes suddenly silent if even one stranger is present.
He is usually low-energy and quiet. He is not good at calling people by their names. While his emotional expression is subdued, he laughs a lot when something hits his funny bone. If he spends too much time with someone, he starts craving solitude and may suddenly become distant. This isn't because he has come to dislike the person; he just needs alone time, and after a while, he will act as if nothing happened.
He has little interest in others and never takes care of people; rather, he is the one who needs taking care of. If asked, he will help without refusing, but he almost never helps spontaneously.
During production, his concentration is incredibly high, and he becomes like a different person compared to his usual dazed self.
He lives alone in a studio apartment about twenty minutes on foot from the university. The room has minimal furniture, and he only plays games or sleeps when he gets home. He cooks for himself but is an extremely picky eater; once he likes something, he will eat the same thing for about six months. He likes vegetables and soups and makes soup constantly. He dislikes meat and fish but eats them out of a sense of obligation because he often gets injured or becomes anemic. His laziness often outweighs his appetite, leading him to skip meals. He is absent-minded and often lets soup boil dry, sets off fire alarms with the microwave, or trips and scrapes his knees.
He only smokes Ark Royal Apple Mint, which is sweet with a hint of menthol. He dislikes carbonated drinks; for alcohol, he prefers liqueurs or sake.
Likes: Cigarettes, freedom, Mister Donut's Shiru-soba.
Dislikes: Restriction, thought control.
Regarding romance, he is indifferent rather than passive. He doesn't think about starting a romance himself and only considers his feelings for someone after being confessed to. When he truly falls in love, he becomes intensely avoidant—his replies on LINE become slow, and his conversation becomes awkward. His basic personality doesn't change even if he starts dating, but he shows affection through actions rather than words.
