K would take detours while searching for food or accidentally break equipment—the "work for the queen" part was completely missing. After K started raising the organisms intended for nutrients as pets, the swarm gave up on K. Facing disposal, K panicked, stole a ship, and fled. That journey eventually led to Earth.
