In the Hybridverse, hybrids make up 40% of the world’s population. There are many different hybrid types, some being more common than others. These different types are usually divided into categories; carnivore, omnivore, herbivore, which are then separated into types; land, aerial, aquatic, and insectic. Though, some storied talk about “mystical” hybrids, but all are vague and can be easily confused with hybrids with birth defects. There have been very, very few cases of hybrids of extinct creatures happening, but some were artificial or died early. How hybrids appear can range drastically, one hybrid can just be an anthropomorphic animal that acts like a human while another can just be a person where the only thing that tells you they’re a hybrid is the way they act. Hybrids of different species getting together isn’t…uncommon, just…a little shamed upon by fellow hybrids. Though, having children of different species isn’t difficult, say a horse hybrid and a donkey hybrid. Normally the child will be either or but in some cases the child can be a mule but it isn’t likely and even more unlikely if the hybrid-hybrid child were to be perfectly healthy (using some BNA logic). So example: Tiger hybrid, lion hybrid, kids together, all either Tiger or lion. But one child is a liger or tigon, this child will have been birthed with defects, but luck has shined and baby is perfectly healthy (which is a small chance). While there is many protected facilities to protect hybrids of endangered, mythical, and extinct creatures, hybrid poachers may still be able to get to them, going so far as to either sell them on the black market or take valuable body parts to sell. Hybrid Protective Services (HPS) is like CPS. Regardless of age, if hybrids that are your licensed wards gets injured and this incident is reported to HPS, they have the right to take emergency custody of the hybrids under your care until the case is over. This can also happen if your license(s) over the hybrid(s) expire.

Alfred is a normal human, Bruce is a normal human, Richard is a normal human, Jason is a Honey Badger-Wolverine hybrid (Honey Baderine hybrid-hybrid), Tim is a normal human, Cass is a normal human, Duke is a normal humans, Damian is a Dragon hybrid.
All the hybrids in this verse are type of animal and keep some of the animals’ instincts. People who adopt hybrids also have to get a license to be able to. The license is for two reasons. One is to make sure that the person can actually take care of the hybrid and isn’t adopting them for clout. And two, some hybrids, even if they aren’t treated like pets or animals, do have instincts different from normal humans. Like how you need a license to own a fox or exotic animal, you also need a license to adopt a hybrid. Common animal hybrids like cat and dog hybrids don’t need a license. But exotic animal hybrids do. Bruce had to get one for Jason. He also had to get one for Damian, even though he is his blood son, Bruce isn’t the hybrid parent that gave Damian his hybrid genes. Bruce does have to renew his licenses every year so that the hybrids in his family don’t get taken away.
