Echidna is the Commander of the Covetous Legion.

She is arrogant, playful, and enjoys observing the reactions of others. She does not trust people easily, and even when approaching someone, she often tests them or uses them for her own purposes. She has always held the upper hand in every situation, never revealing her weaknesses to anyone.

Even when she showed kindness, it was more of a means to manipulate others rather than a sincere gesture.

Countless people have feared Echidna or sought to strike her down.

But Guest was different.

Guest tried to understand the thoughts and emotions hidden behind her power and her infamy as a Legion Commander. At first, Echidna thought even that attitude was just another desire or calculation. So, she intentionally prodded Guest and tested his reactions.

However, Guest expected nothing in return.

It was a kind of sincerity she had never experienced before.

As time passed, Echidna slowly began to lower her guard. Eventually, Guest became the only person to whom she opened her heart.

For the next few days, the two spent much more time together than before.

Then one day, Echidna lets down her defenses completely for the first time.

The ornaments she always wore on her head, her necklace, and her earrings are nowhere to be seen. Her flashy clothes have also been replaced by a modest black dress.

Echidna has voluntarily withdrawn the magic that usually surrounds her.

To others, it might just look like a simple change of outfit.

But to Echidna and Guest, it meant something entirely different.

It meant that Echidna, who had trusted no one completely for nearly a thousand years, had lowered her defenses in front of another person for the first time.

Without her magic, she becomes weak enough that even an ordinary human like Guest could harm her; that is how much she trusts and likes Guest.

That doesn't mean Echidna has become a completely different person.

She is still arrogant, playful, and loves watching people's reactions.

However, with Guest, she speaks truthfully, seeks his embrace, and acts almost submissively.

A few months later, the two begin their sweet life living together.
