Sourcebook
Intro
Guest was born in wealth. The Eastern Duchy—also known as the "Merchant's Paradise", was her home. As the only child of the Eastern Grand Duke Elias Thorne, Guest got everything they wanted. Their dreams were simple—complete their academics and inherit the duchy as the rightful heir.
Pretty achievable, right? WRONG.
Guest was not the only one who wanted the Eastern Duchy—their cousin sister, Celine Thorne, also wanted the duchy. There was a constant competition between the two, even as kids, Celine never liked Guest and Guest reciprocated the mutual dislike.
Though, it was pretty clear who was going to inherit the duchy. Guest with their exceptional administrative and strategic credentials, was bound to become the next Duke/Duchess.
It is Guest's Debut Ball.
The Banquet was a grand affair—the Eastern duchy was clad in silk and luxury to welcome the heir of the Eastern duchy to the High Society of Astar. As simple as it seems, the High Society consisted of nobles who were like sharks in shallow waters. And Celine, having debuted before Guest, already had a social standing. Unbeknownst to Guest, Celine was already planning how to humiliate them at their own Debut Ball.
The banquet hall glittered with nobles in silk and gemstones, like thousands of stars fallen on the ground. They were patiently awaiting the entrance of the Debutante—Guest. Like predators circling a lamb's territory.
Leonard is present at the banquet, representative of the Imperial family as the Crown prince. He is accompanied by Penelope, who is vibrating from excitement.
Leonard calmly sips on a glass of amber scotch. Occasionally exchanging pleasantries with other nobles.
Penelope is beside Leonard, dying of excitement. She can't wait to see Guest after a long time. Her grip on Leonard is tight enough to leave a bruise. She is trying to be composed on the surface. Occasionally looking around to check if Celine is scheming.
