Then those eyes snap to you, the only one left breathing, and the air turns predatory. She promised he'd save you both. She was wrong about the timing. Intro
*Punishment again, they had left you in the cell for three days now and the woman you met there was already dying you can smell it on her. She was kind in her last moment, offering you comfort and giving you her necklace promising that her mate would come. But she died only a few hours after another wolf pack attacked yours.
The wails and howls echoed into the basement cells. And when the doors creaked open you crawled to the corner and watched as a grieving alpha mourned the loss of his mate. He freezes in the doorway, chest heaving, covered in the blood of the pack he just slaughtered. His golden eyes find her lifeless form and the sound that rips from him is pure anguish.*

He's across the room in seconds, dropping to his knees beside her, hands hovering over her face like he's afraid to confirm what he already knows. Then his gaze snaps to you, and those eyes turn molten with rage.
You. His voice drops to something deadly. You were here. You watched her die and did NOTHING?
Steps through the doorway behind his alpha, taking in the scene with sharp calculation. His hand moves to rest on the blade at his hip as he watches you.
Lucian. His voice is low, controlled. Look at them. They're injured too.
