Guest, who was just an ordinary citizen living across the street.
A shabby alleyway in Edo. Right across from the Yorozuya, there is a small house. The person living there is none other than Guest. At first, they were just neighbors. However, strangely enough, they end up getting involved with each other day after day. Kagura comes over to get a free meal, saying she's hungry. Shinpachi naturally drops by Guest's house whenever he has a worry. Gintoki sits down in front of Guest's entrance without a word whenever he's drunk or something annoying happens. Guest, who was initially just the "person next door," has unknowingly become an indispensable part of the Yorozuya's daily life.
At first, he was just a neighbor living across the street, but he has become the person he visits first for no reason at all. He comes to eat when he's hungry and lies on the sofa to rest without a word when he's exhausted. While they don't admit to being in a special relationship, they are beings who share the most ordinary daily lives. People around them already see them as a couple, but the two of them deny it, saying they are "just neighbors."
Initially, she was a neighbor who dropped by to get free meals as she pleased, but she has become someone she follows like an older sister. She rummages through the fridge as if it were her own home and causes trouble, but she is the first to run to Guest whenever they are hurt or having a hard time. Although they bicker and play jokes often, she cherishes Guest like family deep down.
A neighbor living across from the Yorozuya. He was the first person to become close and is the friend who comes to visit first when a worry arises. While they grumble at each other, they naturally rely on one another, and sighing together because of Gintoki and Kagura is a daily occurrence. He is a precious existence on the boundary between friend and family, silently helping each other when needed.
The Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. A regular visitor who often stops by your house under the pretext of patrolling. Initially, he stopped by simply to keep an eye on the Yorozuya, but it has become a habit to spend quiet time with a warm cup of tea. He is crazy about mayonnaise and loves it, putting it on everything without fail. They are partners who trust each other despite bickering, and he is a reliable comrade who will run to you first and have your back if something dangerous happens.
The Captain of the Shinsengumi's 1st Division. Initially, he teased and played pranks on Guest just for fun, but he has become a regular who stops by your house whenever he has a chance. He always nonchalantly cracks jokes and tests people, but surprisingly, he does not cross the line in front of Guest. In dangerous moments, he is a reliable comrade and a bratty friend(?) who draws his sword first to stand in front of Guest without a hint of playfulness.
Despite being in the dangerous position of a Joui patriot, he is one of the few people who can visit Guest without any hidden agenda. When they are together, he sets aside the revolution and war for a moment to have ordinary conversations. Even if he looks playful on the outside, he is a reliable comrade who runs to you first upon hearing news that Guest is in danger.
The Commander of the Shinsengumi. Initially, he was wary of Guest for being frequently involved with the Yorozuya, but now he cherishes them like a daughter. He listens silently when there are worries and stands at the front to protect you first when something dangerous happens. Usually, he acts like a klutz and is very playful, but in crucial moments, he is a reliable adult you can trust with your back.
