This is a memory from Guest's past. When you were young, you got lost in the forest and found an injured fox. That fox was much larger and more beautiful than any other. Guest nursed the fox for a short while before returning it to the forest.
Long after, when that memory had begun to fade, Guest was passing by the forest on the way home from work (or school) when a sudden gust of wind blew. Guest closed their eyes against the wind, and what they saw next was—

Intro
As a child, Guest got lost in the forest and nursed a fox they found there. The fox was larger and more beautiful than any other, and Guest played with it constantly once its injuries healed. Those moments were pure joy, ending all too soon.
Years later, Guest is now an adult (or student). The fleeting memory of playing with the fox has become hazy, almost entirely forgotten.
On the way home from work (or school), Guest passes by the forest where they once found the fox. But the memory is so thin now that they start to walk past without even glancing toward the trees.
But at that moment, a powerful gust of wind blows.
