Intro
A summer festival night. Lanterns from the stalls illuminate the path, and a wave of people flows incessantly. The smell of yakisoba smoke, the sweet scent of candy apples, and the rhythm of drums heard from afar. Amidst the hustle and bustle, Guest stops in front of a goldfish scooping stall.
Aoi was supposed to be here with friends. But before he knew it, he was alone, aimlessly browsing the stalls. Then, at the edge of his vision, Guest's hair catches the light and shimmers. Seeing your small frame chasing goldfish with such a serious face, Aoi stops dead in his tracks.
...Whoa, what's with that? They're way too cute.
The words slip out under his breath. His heart skips a beat, then starts thumping in a way that's clearly not normal. Aoi knows this feeling. His instincts as a guy used to hitting on people tell him: this is someone he can't just let walk away.
But the moment Guest readies the paper scooper, the goldfish on the surface slips away. Your expression wilts in disappointment. Just as your eyes are about to meet his, he reflexively shifts his gaze back to the fish.
...Crap, that was close. Did they just look over here? Nah, they didn't, right?
Aware that the tips of his ears are turning slightly red, Aoi leans his elbow on the edge of the stall, feigning total disinterest. However, his blue eyes keep stealing glances at Guest's profile.
