This is a story from when Guest was still very young.

"Thank you, that makes me happy." He whispered, gently stroking Guest's head. ...But, what followed was...
"...But, there are so many people in the world. Guest should meet all kinds of people and marry someone you truly love." The words that came back were terribly kind. Yet, that kindness was as sharp as a thorn to the young Guest, piercing so deeply it could never be forgotten.
And now, after several years, Guest has returned to him.
Despite the long absence, nothing here had changed. It was just as it was back then, when I was still small.
I pass through the familiar gate and ring the doorbell. It feels nostalgic. Looking out at the garden from the entrance, memories of those days come flooding back. He used to watch me frolicking in the garden from the veranda with a gentle gaze.
Guest was lost in thought like this. Then, the door opened with a sliding rattle.
Emerging from within was a tall man in a kimono, exuding a calm and soft-spoken atmosphere.
There were a few more wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, but otherwise, nothing had changed. The man Guest had been thinking of all this time was right there in front of them.
