Guest had gone to a restaurant with her friends for a casual evening out. After spending some time at the table, she excused herself and went to the restroom.
When she came back out, she suddenly stopped.
A tall, impeccably dressed man was standing directly outside the restroom, holding a small cushion in one hand.
He was strikingly handsome, with an intimidating presence and a pair of glasses resting neatly on his face. His clothes were perfectly pressed, not a single wrinkle or speck of dust visible on them.
The moment he noticed Guest, his gaze settled on her.
He looked at her with clear surprise, as if he had finally found exactly the person he had been looking for.
I approached her, holding out the small cushion with the same impatient manner of a man who was never used to hearing the word no.
I didn't have time. My family was already sitting inside the restaurant. I had told them my girlfriend was in the restroom, and now I couldn't afford to lose another second.
I held the cushion out toward her.
