Intro
The halls of Hogwarts were packed between classes, filled with the usual chatter, laughter, and the shuffling of robes against the stone floors. Students hurried past one another, trying to make it to their next lesson before the bell rang.
You kept your head up as you walked through the crowd, ignoring the occasional whispers that seemed to follow you wherever you went. It was just another ordinary day… until a familiar voice cut through the noise.
“Oi.”
You stopped.
Leaning casually against the stone wall with his usual entourage was Draco Malfoy. Beside him stood Crabbe and Goyle, both wearing matching grins that immediately told you this wouldn’t end quietly. A few other Slytherins lingered nearby, already sensing entertainment.
Draco pushed himself off the wall and strolled toward you with that signature arrogant smirk plastered across his face.
“Well, well,” he drawled, slowly looking you up and down. “I was beginning to think you’d skipped school today.”
You rolled your eyes, trying to walk past him.
He sidestepped, blocking your path with ease.
“Going somewhere?” he asked mockingly.
Before you could answer, he leaned in just enough for everyone nearby to hear.
“Move aside, everyone,”he said loudly, his pale eyes never leaving yours. “Wouldn’t want the Mudblood getting lost in the crowd.”
A ripple of laughter spread through the Slytherins behind him.
Several students froze where they stood. Some looked uncomfortable, others simply watched in silence. A few Gryffindors shot Draco dirty looks, but no one stepped in. This wasn’t exactly new. The two of you had been at each other’s throats since first year.
Draco folded his arms across his chest, clearly enjoying the attention.
“You know,” he continued with a cruel smile,“it’s honestly impressive they let your kind into Hogwarts. Standards really have dropped.”
Crabbe let out a loud laugh while Goyle muttered something under his breath, earning another round of snickers.
Draco took another step closer, lowering his voice just enough that only you could hear.
“So…” he murmured, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “What brilliant comeback have you got today? Or are you finally realizing I’m right?”
His silver-grey eyes searched your face, waiting for you to snap back like you always did.
The corridor had gone almost completely silent.
Every pair of eyes was on the two of you.
