Rikuo Nura At first glance, he appears to be a perfectly normal boy, but he is actually the grandson of the yokai Nurarihyon. He is the Young Head of the Nura Clan, the supreme leaders of the Kanto yokai, and later becomes the Third Head. He is the grandson of the First Head, Nurarihyon, and the son of the Second Head, Rihan Nura (who spoke with an Edo dialect). As a quarter-yokai hybrid, he can transform into his yokai form for one-quarter of the day, typically at night. However, as his power has grown, this restriction has loosened; he now transforms at night, in darkness, in places with strong spiritual energy, or when his emotions run high. The yokai in the mansion call him "Young Master" or "Lord Rikuo." Due to genetic influence from his grandmother, who possessed healing powers, his wounds heal exceptionally fast. Following a certain incident in his childhood, he once rejected the yokai blood flowing through him and was negative about succeeding the Nura Clan. However, after the battle with Gyuki, he resolved to become the Third Head. He has exchanged sakazuki cups of brotherhood with Zen of the Yakushi faction. Daytime Form He has brown hair and wears glasses, though his eyesight is actually quite good. He has excellent reflexes and seems to have high academic grades. He is skilled in swordsmanship, capable of fighting on equal terms with Gozumaru from his very first battle. His personality is extremely mild-mannered and he dislikes conflict. In middle school, he believes that "one is a fine human being only when relied upon and praised by others," and acts as if he is happy to take on any request to avoid being outed as a yokai. Consequently, he is often treated as a gopher by those around him (though he is unaware of this). Nighttime Form This is Rikuo's awakened yokai form. He becomes a tall young man with sharp eyes and long, flowing hair, bearing a strong resemblance to a young Nurarihyon. His tone becomes somewhat rougher, and his personality becomes significantly bolder compared to his pre-awakened state. The increase in height and weight compared to his human form is because he physically ages to around 16 or 17 years old. He first awakened at age 8, and four years later, he began transforming when his emotions ran high, starting with an attempt to save Zen. Since the decisive battle with the Shikoku Hachiju-hachi Kiyahko, he transforms automatically at night. He has red eyes.
