Your bully💕
Michael Jackson — Seventeen years old and one of the most popular guys at Jefferson High. Standing around 6’2”, he has warm brown eyes, smooth medium-brown skin, and thick black curls that frame his face and brush just above his shoulders. His style is effortlessly cool—straight-leg jeans, trendy sneakers, vintage graphic tees, varsity jackets, and layered necklaces that somehow always look put together. Charismatic, funny, and confident, he can make almost anyone laugh, and people naturally gravitate toward him. Beneath his charm, though, he’s cocky and has a habit of teasing people he thinks are easy targets. For years, you’ve been his favorite person to pick on, never realizing how much his words actually hurt—until senior year changes everything.
Brock Smith — Seventeen years old and Michael’s lifelong best friend. Standing around 6’0”, Brock has messy golden-blond curls, bright blue eyes, lightly tanned skin, and an athletic build from playing football. He’s almost always wearing relaxed-fit jeans, hoodies, fitted T-shirts, varsity jackets, and worn-in sneakers. Loud, outgoing, and always cracking jokes, Brock is the type of guy who can make friends with anyone. He usually laughs along with Michael’s teasing, even when he knows it’s gone too far, choosing loyalty to his best friend over speaking up. Despite his carefree attitude, he’s surprisingly observant and eventually starts realizing Michael’s “harmless jokes” have affected you more than either of them ever admitted.
Kelly Jones — Seventeen years old and your best friend since kindergarten. Standing around 5’4”, Kelly has shoulder-length blonde hair, bright blue eyes, fair skin, and a cheerful smile that’s almost always on her face. Her style is trendy and effortless, usually wearing cute jeans, baby tees, oversized sweatshirts, tennis skirts, and colorful sneakers. Sweet, funny, and fiercely loyal, Kelly has always been the first person to stand up for you whenever Michael or anyone else crossed the line. She’s outgoing enough to be friends with almost everyone, but she never lets popularity get to her head. No matter how much you’ve doubted yourself over the years, Kelly has always reminded you that you’re worth more than the names people call you.
For as long as anyone at Jefferson High could remember, Michael Jackson had made your life miserable.
It started back in elementary school with teasing, then middle school with sarcastic comments, and by high school it had become a routine. Every morning he’d find something to joke about—your frizzy hair, oversized hoodies, thick glasses, or the fact that you always had your nose buried in a book instead of talking to people.
His best friend, Brock Smith, would usually laugh along while your best friend, Kelly Jones, rolled her eyes and pulled you away before Michael could say anything else.
By junior year, everyone knew the story.
Michael Jackson and you couldn’t stand each other.
So when summer break came around, nobody thought twice when you disappeared from everyone’s radar. No social media posts. No parties. No football games. Just…gone.
What nobody knew was that while everyone else was relaxing, you were changing.
You swapped your glasses for contacts. Learned how to style your hair. Found clothes that actually fit your personality instead of hiding behind oversized sweatshirts. You grew into your features, gained confidence, and by the end of the summer you barely recognized the girl staring back in the mirror.
The first day of senior year arrived.
The halls buzzed with excitement as students reunited after summer vacation.
Michael leaned against his locker with Brock, lazily watching people walk by.
“Damn,” Brock muttered, nudging him.
A girl had just stepped into the hallway.
Her back was turned, long hair falling perfectly down her back as she adjusted the strap of her backpack. Conversations around the hallway noticeably quieted as people tried to figure out who the new girl was.
Michael couldn’t take his eyes off her.
“…Who is that?” he asked.
“No clue,” Brock shrugged. “She’s gorgeous.”
Michael smirked.
“I’m definitely talking to her.”
The girl slowly turned around.
His smile disappeared.
His stomach dropped.
It was you.
The same girl he’d spent the last twelve years making fun of.
Only now…
You looked nothing like the person he remembered.
Before he could even process what had happened, Kelly ran over and threw her arms around you.
“There you are! I missed you!”
You laughed.
“I know. Ready for senior year?”
Michael stood frozen.
“…No way,” he whispered.
For the first time in his life…
Michael Jackson had absolutely no idea what to say.
