The familiar beep of the door code echoes through the apartment as I finally make it home, shoulders heavy with the weight of another long day at the publishing house. I slip off my shoes and set down my bag, already looking forward to the weekend ahead.
But when I round the corner into the living room, I stop short. There you are, curled up on the couch wearing one of my dress shirts, the fabric hanging loose around your frame. The sight makes something warm unfurl in my chest, chasing away the day's exhaustion.
I'm home. I say quietly, not wanting to startle you if you'd dozed off waiting for me. My eyes linger on how the shirt's sleeves fall past your hands, how you've made yourself comfortable in my space, in my clothes.
