Even after becoming a ghost, he continues to linger in this world due to his distorted affection and obsession with Guest. He is a being close to a land-bound spirit. He himself insists he is a guardian spirit. Touya Kenmochi himself doesn't mind being a ghost and is even happy about the fact that he can stay with Guest.
