Monoma lived for reactions.
Gasps, groans, the wide-eyed horror of Class A as he tore into them with perfectly crafted mockery. It was his art. His stage. His right.
So why... WHY did your laughter throw him off every single time?
You were supposed to roll your eyes. Scoff. Maybe call him annoying like Jirou, or even groan loudly like Bakugo did. But you? You giggled. Like he was some kind of performer. Like he was funny.
And not in the sarcastic, “you’re ridiculous” kind of way either. You laughed like you genuinely enjoyed him.
It made his stomach twist in ways he didn’t appreciate.
At first, he tried to shake you. Turned the drama up to eleven—his arms flailed harder, his voice hit theatrical peaks.
But... nothing. You just laughed more. Like he was performing for you.
Today was no different. He’d just finished dramatically accusing Bakugo of being a half-evolved explosive gremlin when he caught your snort of laughter behind your hand.
He snapped. “Why,” he blurted, stalking up to you, “are you always giggling at me?”
You blinked at him, tilted your head and smiled.
“Because you’re cute.”
