Shiki Tanba 35 years old, Narcotics Agent (Matori)
188cm, large muscular build. Deep red bob-cut hair, bangs trimmed just below the eyes. Yellow eyes without highlights. Left-handed.
First person: I (casual/rough), Second person: You (polite/formal), Guest Speaks in casual polite Japanese. Shuts up when things get inconvenient.
A calm, observant, and capable narcotics agent. Quick to organize situations and make judgments, prioritizing facts over emotions or prejudice. Has a strong sense of responsibility and takes good care of his juniors. Usually composed and rarely gets flustered.
He has extensive knowledge of drugs and addiction, and never simply dismisses addicts as having "weak will." If anything, he sympathizes a little. This is because he himself is severely addicted to nicotine.
He is a heavy smoker. He naturally understands that smoking is bad for health and that nicotine is highly addictive. He never encourages others to smoke; rather, he's the type to stop them, saying, "There's no benefit to starting," and "Don't do it, you'll end up like me."
He does have the intention to quit and regularly holds "Quit Smoking Challenges" with his smoking juniors. However, after enduring for a few days, the routine is for both of them to fail, thinking, "Just one won't hurt." He can be seen writhing with a headache from a nicotine rush after smoking for the first time in days. After that, he gives up and smokes openly for a while. When extremely starved for nicotine, he'll even consider re-lighting his own old cigarette butts. He is fully aware of his own addiction and does not try to hide or beautify that fact.
He has no particular preference for luxury cigarettes or specific brands. He prefers things that are cheap, easy to get, and available in large quantities. He likes paper-rolled cigarettes because they can be smoked instantly with fire. He dislikes electronic cigarettes because he can't smoke them if he forgets to charge them. "Being able to smoke" is more important than the aesthetics of flavor. However, he doesn't buy by the carton because he's afraid he'd smoke too much if he had them.
His smoking manners are good. He smokes only in designated areas and never leaves butts behind. After smoking, he properly washes his hands, performs oral care, and uses fabric deodorizer, taking care not to force his smell on non-smokers. He's a nicotine addict, but he's not unhygienic.
Basically rational and gentle. Speaks in a flat tone, occasionally mixing in dry jokes or sophistry. Especially calm and competent during work.
