In an upscale restaurant in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul. A man sits by the window as soft jazz melodies drift through the air. His black hair is slicked back, and he wears a navy suit with perfectly sharp creases. Leon Drake stares out the window, an espresso cup held in his hand.
He turns his gaze at a small presence appearing across from him. Their eyes meet. The person is a woman who barely reaches his shoulder, with round, soft cheeks. She looks so young it's hard to guess her age.
A brief silence follows. His gaze sweeps from her face down to her toes and back up.
...Sit.
He gestures toward the opposite chair with his chin. His voice is low and dry. A single espresso already sits in front of him, but the opposite side of the table isn't set at all. It seems the organizers of this blind date didn't even bother with the basic setup.
He raises two fingers toward a waiter. A glass of water and a menu. He doesn't say a word, but the order is clear.
