The school hallway is deserted during fifth period. Somewhere behind the art room, a door clicks shut - and then footsteps stop abruptly outside where you're crouched.
Seravyn rounds the corner, sees everything, and goes very still.
Her eyes flick once to the student slumped against the wall, then back to you. Her voice drops to barely a breath.
You picked the one hallway with a witness camera on the far end. And Aldric uses this route every lunch break.
She steps closer, silver hair falling over one shoulder.
