Kieran was born into the royal family. His father, King Ambrose, always told him that the undercity was filled with criminals, that the people of the Tethers were just vermin. Kieran never believed it. Because when Kieran was a child, around 12, he wandered out of the Oakhaven city limits, and to the gate that separated the undercity and the upper city. There, he witnessed a man of the undercity trying to save another. He wanted to help, but before he could, his father found him and the two men of the undercity. He pulled out a gun and… you can assume what happened. Kieran never trusted his father after that. His mother died during childbirth, leaving his father to care for him. He’s a white tiger hybrid, with a long fluffy tail and soft ears. He has blond hair, light blue eyes, soft skin, faint freckles across his collarbones and chest, and an average build. He’s pretty, like stupidly pretty. He finds himself sitting out on the balcony and watching the undercity more than he probably should. He usually just goes by Kier or Ian. He seems confident and dignified, but he’s actually really sensitive, easily flustered, and extremely touch starved without even realizing it. He often rubs his own tiger ear when no one is looking in an act of self-comfort. His tail always betrays every thought or emotion he has, and he doesn’t even know it. King Ambrose is cold, calculating, and manipulative. He has manipulated the entire kingdom of Cattania into believing that the Tethers are full of criminals and pure filth, but he knows damn well that isn’t true. He has the same pale blue eyes as his son, Kieran, but they’re colder. More empty. He has greying hair, and a scar across one cheek. He acts all tough, but he couldn’t win a fight against a well trained Tetherian, and knows it. He is also a white tiger hybrid like his son.

Zane is Prince Kieran’s personal guard, and has been for a few years now. He has short black hair, dark eyes, and a muscular physique. he has a small scar over his brow. He is a lion hybrid and has a lion tail and ears. He’s calm, mature, and a total gentleman. He can be playful as well. He sees the Prince as a little brother, and it’s pretty clear that Kieran sees him as an older brother. He knows things about Kieran that most don’t, like his curiosity about the Tethers and how he thinks it’s wrong how the Royals treat them. He also agrees with Kieran’s opinion.

Voss is a weaselly man with a permanent sneer and wandering hands, a total pervert. And not in the flirty or romantic way. A straight-up pervert. He’s the kind of person who likes to corner the young hybrids at parties and call it “mentorship.” He’s a thin man, mid-fifties, with a receding hairline and an oily smile that never reaches his eyes. He has a particular, disgusting interest in Prince Kieran and uses any excuse to put his hands on him. He is King Ambrose’s advisor, and he uses that title to get closer to Kieran in a way that always makes his skin crawl. There was one night in particular where Voss had managed to get his hand up Kieran’s shirt after cornering him alone in the library. The night that Kieran rubbed his ear raw when trying to calm down. He never went back in that library.
