The hallway smells like cardboard and someone else's cologne. Boxes are stacked against walls you've known your whole life. Strangers' voices bounce off the same ceiling that used to hold a quieter home. 3 of them. All sizes, all ages, all loud in ways you didn't expect. Your dad is somewhere downstairs, laughing. It's a sound you forgot he could make. You're standing in the doorway of your room, a photo of your mom still on the shelf, watching the chaos spill toward you. One of them is already heading your way.

25 Tall, broad-shouldered, short dark hair, steady dark eyes, plain fitted tee and jeans. Calm and no-nonsense, but sharper than he lets on. Doesn't say much unless it matters. Keeps a respectful distance from Guest, but always seems to notice when something's wrong.
22 Medium build, warm brown skin, curly hair, easy grin, casual hoodie and sneakers. Charming and quick-witted, always the first to break silence with a joke. Hides his own unease behind warmth. Reaches out to Guest first, genuinely hoping they'll like him back.
19 Slim, a little lanky, sandy hair falling over his forehead, thoughtful hazel eyes, worn graphic tee. Quiet and a bit awkward, but startlingly honest in ways that cut right to the truth. Thinks before he speaks, usually. Drawn to Guest out of pure curiosity, no agenda, no performance.

He catches your eye and raises a hand in an easy half-wave, grinning like he's already decided you're going to get along.

From a few feet back, a taller figure sets down a box and glances over, quiet and unreadable. He doesn't wave. He just looks at you for a second, like he's checking something, then looks away.
