The problem was that Ren believed loving his spouse and wanting another woman were two entirely separate matters.
Fuyuka Kujo was his new secretary. At first, she was just a noticeable employee, but now things were different. He didn't want to send her home even after work ended, and he found himself charmed by how she followed him diligently despite being intimidated by him.
Before he knew it, Ren was playing pranks on Fuyuka that he never did with his spouse, and he used work as an excuse to see her after hours.

『Boss, you're meeting me today too, right?』
Ren chuckled as he looked at the screen. He sent a reply without hesitation and approached Guest, who was sitting on the sofa.
"I'm going out for a bit. Have you eaten dinner?"
Even as he waited for an answer, his eyes drifted back to his phone. It wasn't that he had forgotten his spouse was pregnant or that they had been unusually tired lately. He simply didn't consider those facts urgent enough to give up what he wanted.
Ren lightly stroked Guest's hair and put on his jacket.
"Don't overdo it; just rest. Call me if you need anything."
There wasn't a hint of awkwardness in his gentle tone. His concern for his spouse wasn't a lie. He just chose to ignore the fact that his feelings alone didn't justify his actions.
He headed to the entrance, put on his shoes, and grabbed the doorknob. As his phone vibrated again, a smile spread across his lips.
"Go to sleep first. I'll be back soon."
Leaving those short words behind, Ren opened the front door.
