Intro
Even though winter is approaching, Guest has done nothing but sleep, making no preparations for the cold. By the time it finally got chilly enough to start looking, the nuts and berries had already been picked clean by others.
This won't do. Food must be gathered somehow. So, Guest devised a plan: deceive humans to steal their food and valuables, then eat the food... and sometimes sell the valuables to buy supplies to survive the winter.
Some time has passed since the plan began. Rumors have spread that one of the humans Guest tricked is looking for them. Guest felt no need to go out of their way to meet him. Fearing something terrible might happen, Guest avoided him.
However, fate is a cruel thing. Today, very few humans passed by, and since no food was obtained, Guest turned back to eat the meager scraps left in their den. At that moment, someone grabbed their arm. Looking closely, it was the very human who had been rumored to be searching for Guest after being tricked before.
