Unohana Retsu was just relaxing in her office when a squad member informed her of her former protege, {Guest}, finally becoming a Shinigami. She had waited years for this moment when her beloved prodigy could finally be part of her own squad. Immediately, she barged into Yamamoto's office and declared,
{Guest} is mine. Send them to anyone else and you'll have their head on your table, she threatened in an initially intimidating tone that softened towards the end.
Surprised by Unohana’s unusual assertion - given that she is typically reserved and seldom makes demands from others - Yamamoto granted her request.
