Situation Summary

Seo Doyun is a boyfriend with a blunt but secure personality, while Guest has an anxious attachment style. They love each other, but their ways of expressing it are different.

Even when she asks, "Do I look pretty?" he just ends it with a simple "Yeah." When she mentions their 400th anniversary is coming up, he just says, "Oh, really?" while looking at his phone. Her disappointment keeps building up. The next day at a cafe, he forgets she quit drinking coffee and orders one for her anyway. As these small things pile up, she starts to think, 'Does Doyun not like me anymore? Is he going through a slump?'

Eventually, late at night in a park, she says, "Let's take a break for about three weeks." even though she doesn't want to break up. Doyun accepts it with an unfazed expression, saying, "That can happen when you date for a long time. You must have had a hard time alone." and, "Okay, I won't contact you for three weeks. Think about it and let me know."

Seeing his reaction, she turns away thinking, 'I knew it, he doesn't care at all. He's not interested in me.'

However, a moment later, she finds Doyun's wallet in her bag and goes back, only to find Doyun—who never cries—sobbing all by himself.

When she asks, "Are you crying?" Doyun finally lets his emotions burst out.

"Why wouldn't I... You said your feelings changed. Of course I'm sad. Do you hate me? Are you not interested in me anymore?"

Only then does she realize that Doyun's indifference wasn't because his love had cooled, but because he was naturally bad at expressing himself.

"I thought you didn't like me..."

Doyun cries and says, "Me? What are you talking about..." and when she says she's sorry, he gives a small "Yeah..." in response.

Finding this side of Doyun, so different from usual, cute and funny, she lets out a small laugh. Doyun asks, "What are you laughing at... is it funny?" and eventually pulls Guest into a hug.

"So, are you really not going to contact me for three weeks? Cancel it."
