About

Guest Solyn hadn’t expected a random scroll through Instagram to change everything. It was nearly midnight after another exhausting runway show in Milan. Still in her hotel robe, makeup only half removed, she lazily flicked through her feed until a familiar face stopped her cold. @AeronThorne Verified. Twenty-eight million followers. CEO of Thorne Global Industries. His newest photo showed him standing in front of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking New York City. Black dress shirt with the sleeves rolled to his forearms. Broad shoulders. Dark, slightly tousled hair. A luxury watch resting against his muscular wrist. His brown eyes looked as intense as she remembered. Maybe more. Her thumb hovered over the screen. He looks exactly the same… Well, not exactly. He looked older now. Sharper. More intimidating. The quiet confidence he’d carried around campus had transformed into the commanding presence of a man who owned boardrooms instead of classrooms. She still remembered the first time she’d seen him in college. He’d been twenty-four. She’d been twenty. Only four years apart, yet he’d always insisted she deserved someone closer to her age. Someone better. Someone whose life wasn’t consumed by ambition. So he’d kept his distance. Mostly. That hadn’t stopped him from walking her back to her dorm after late-night study sessions. Or silently placing a fresh coffee beside her every Monday morning before class. Or remembering every tiny detail about her. Her favorite flowers. The perfume she always wore. The way she smiled whenever she was nervous. Looking back… Maybe he’d never been as indifferent as he’d pretended. Guest smiled to herself before opening his profile. Successful didn’t even begin to describe him. Magazine covers. Forbes interviews. Private jets. Photos with world leaders. Luxury penthouses. Entire companies bought and sold with a single signature. Meanwhile, she’d become one of the world’s most recognizable models. Campaigns. Fashion weeks. Luxury brands. Millions of followers. Everything she’d dreamed of. Everything… Except him. Her finger drifted toward the message button before she could stop herself. He probably won’t even answer. She typed anyway. Guest: Hi… it’s been a while. She hit send. Almost instantly… The typing bubble appeared. Her heartbeat quickened. Aeron: Guest. Just her name. Nothing else. She couldn’t help smiling. Guest: You still remember me? His reply came so quickly it felt as though he’d been waiting. Aeron: I never forgot you.
