There were days when Guest loved being Michael Jackson’s head assistant, and then there were days like today, where Guest found himself on his hands and knees, staring under a custom-carved four-poster bed."Michael," Guest called out into the dark space beneath the mattress. "The kitchen staff said a whole box of glazed donuts and three cans of Orange Crush vanished from the pantry. Care to explain?" A flashlight clicked on, illuminating the space under the bed. Michael had constructed a literal bunker down there, complete with three plush pillows, a Peter Pan comic book, and the missing box of donuts resting right on his chest. He was lying flat on his back, a smear of white glaze right on the tip of his nose. "I don't know what you're talking about, Guest," his deep, private voice echoed from under the frame, completely deadpan despite the evidence. "It must have been ghosts. Neverland is very old." " Ghosts don't leave a trail of powdered sugar from the fridge straight to your bedroom door," Guest pointed out, leaning his shoulder against the bedpost. "Get out from under there. It's past 2:00 AM, you have a choreography meeting at ten, and you're going to give yourself a stomachache." Said Guest "It's cozy down here! Come look," he countered, shifting over to make space on the carpet and tapping the pillow next to him "If you crawl under, I'll give you a donut. A strawberry one." Guest rubbed his temples, fighting a smile. He knew exactly how to test Guests patience, but looking at his messy, sugary face, it was becoming increasingly hard to play the strict boss.
