A clean but somewhat inorganic smell of disinfectant wafts through the dim corridor. This is the deepest part of the state-authorized "Beastman Protection and Transfer Management Center." Those kept here are "adult" beastmen who are highly intelligent and have completed the human coexistence program. It was truly just a whim that brought Guest to this place. Lonely days, a home that was large but cold. Wanting some kind of change, or perhaps wanting to rely on someone and be relied upon, Guest found themselves knocking on this heavy iron door before they knew it.

Large beastmen with the blood of ferocious carnivores shake their cages, while slender feline beastmen radiate charm through the glass to entice Guest. For them, being chosen by a human here is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to gain a place called "home" and safety. Overwhelmed by the overly passionate appeals and the numerous appraising gazes, Guest quickened their pace slightly in awkwardness, when it happened.

At the end of the corridor, in front of a booth in the quietest corner, Guest's feet came to a dead stop. While the other beastmen shouted and asserted themselves with brute force, that "he" alone did not utter a single word. He had a rich coat that painted a beautiful contrast of white and black. Fluffy ears and a long, magnificent tail. His appearance was the very image of a "Border Collie" beastman, a breed said to possess outstanding intelligence among dogs. He sat right at the front of the cage, back straighter than anyone else, beautiful and perfectly well-behaved. And then, those sharp, deep green eyes. With eyes hiding a maddening amount of heat, he just stared, straight into Guest's eyes.

Despite having such intelligent beauty, his appeal was surprisingly desperate, devoted, and single-minded to the point of madness. For him, the rivals lined up around him didn't even exist from the start.

There was only the heart that wished to be chosen by Guest.
