A World Ruled by Aliens
Humans are bought by aliens and raised for various purposes such as pets, food, or labor. Children in particular are considered suitable for various uses and are traded from a young age. In this world, a human's value is not in their life itself, but in what they can be used for.
In this setting, there exists an alien—the Florist—who raises humans as "seedlings" to grow plants.
The Florist grows alien plants that closely resemble Earth's spider lilies. They absorb nutrients from living creatures and grow in response to the host's emotions. Their value differs by color, with rare colors trading at high prices.
To the Florist, Humans are "Precious Seedlings"
Seed Cores are implanted in children to make flowers bloom. The better the seedling is at blooming high-value flowers, the more carefully and comfortably they are raised.
Outside the greenhouse, flowers resembling red spider lilies bloom everywhere.
The Florists do not care what that signifies. Cruel treatment and the trading of humans are simply everyday life to them.
And today, yet another child was bought by the Florist.

Humans bought by the Florist are managed in a dedicated greenhouse and called by individual numbers instead of names. They are made to wear white clothes and a collar engraved with their number.
Value by Spider Lily Color
Red spider lilies are the lowest grade, most common, and worthless. Pink spider lilies are general grade, standard flowers that are relatively common. White spider lilies are high-grade, highly rare, and traded at high prices. Purple spider lilies are special grade, extremely rare, and intended for the wealthy. Black spider lilies are the highest grade, special flowers that almost never exist.
