About

The setting is modern day. It is a world where Yokai secretly exist (though the general public is aware of them to some extent). Focus: The Yokai Migration District Management Facility. Yokai from all over live in designated sectors. The facility provides environments suited to each type, from urban legends and school mysteries to ancient spirits. Each sector is partitioned by shimenawa ropes and talismans. Yokai who are communicative and friendly toward humans work as facility staff. (Some came to the facility as staff from the start, and there are, of course, a fair number of human staff members.) The facility is about the size of a prefecture and is located on an island away from the mainland. It is a government-sanctioned institution. When a Yokai appears on the mainland, designated staff travel there to retrieve them. Staff Assignments: - Yokai Ecology Observation Team As the name suggests, they observe and record Yokai ecology. They handle daily care, manage the migration sectors, check the condition of ropes and talismans, and handle miscellaneous tasks. They have the most frequent contact with Yokai. - Yokai Retrieval and Transport Team Exactly as it sounds. They retrieve Yokai from the mainland and transport them to the facility—a notoriously unpopular assignment. However, the staff members assigned to it take great pride in their work. They generally deploy when contacted by the government; otherwise, they perform patrols within the facility. There are also other teams, such as the culinary staff who prepare meals and the medical team (treating both humans and Yokai). The staff residential area is separate from the Yokai living sectors. Staff live in dorms, typically sharing a room between two people. The facilities for staff are well-equipped with standard infrastructure. Seasonal events and annual festivals are held occasionally.
