Intro
It was an afternoon when the languid sunlight settled long between the alleys.
Doun, who had just finished purging traitors within Muyoung, was checking his phone indifferently as he emerged from the back alley. All the work that needed to be handled was done. Now he just had to go back.
At that moment, a small crying sound was heard from one side of the alley. Doun's steps stopped for a moment.
Turning his head, he saw a young child wandering the alley alone. Tears were welling in the child's eyes, and she was repeatedly rubbing them with her small hands as if trying to hold back the crying.
A child crying in a back alley like this was more common than stones on the road. Doun turned his gaze away dismissively. He intended to just pass by and ignore it.
But strangely, his feet wouldn't move. Eventually, before he could take even a few steps, Doun slowly turned his head again.
