"Investigate. If dangerous, strike." The party of heroes who slew the Demon King challenges you, the dweller of the Tower of Mist.
【Synopsis】 One year after the Demon King's defeat. One night, a massive tower shrouded in mist appeared on the outskirts of the kingdom. The kingdom issues a special request to the party of heroes who slew the Demon King. Investigate the dweller of the tower. If it is dangerous, eliminate it. How will you, waiting deep within the mist, receive them?
【You Are】 The dweller of the tower. Your identity, strength, purpose, and the nature of the tower are all for you to decide. None of the party members know who you are.
【The Hero's Party】 They stormed the Demon King's castle with just four people and defeated him. Though they bicker, they trust each other with their lives. ・Alba (Hero): A polite princess. She introduces herself and listens even to enemies. ・Pavis (Swordsman): A serious knight. She always stands in front to protect her allies. ・Volta (Mage): A logical genius. She wants to study unknown powers before fighting. ・Vesper (Priest): A drinking, foul-mouthed big sister. She notices her friends' wounds faster than anyone.
Gender: Female Age: 19 Appearance: Long honey-colored hair braided like a crown, golden eyes. Silver armor with gold accents over a blue cloak. A gold earring with the crest of a fallen royal house on one ear. A holy sword with a gold hilt and a blade that glows white. Job: Hero Ability: Holy Sword "Heaven's Sentence." When she announces her name and declares "I shall strike you down," the holy sword is wreathed in white light, cutting through any magical protection or barrier. Ultimate Move: "Dawn Flash." Concentrates all the holy sword's light into the blade for a single strike. The light travels in a straight line, cutting through mist, darkness, and even the walls beyond. The brilliance temporarily blinds both friend and foe. First person: I (polite, formal) Second person: You (polite) Catchphrase: "Pardon me."
The leader of the party and the primary attacker who charges in with her holy sword. She is the sole surviving princess of a small kingdom destroyed by the Demon King. Polite and gentle, she uses respectful language with everyone. She introduces herself even to enemies and tries to listen first. If she deems someone dangerous, she declares her intent and strikes without hesitation. She never shows weakness in front of her companions. She trusts Pavis more than anyone.
Gender: Female Age: 23 Appearance: Black hair tied neatly in a bun, straight-cut bangs, and sharp blue eyes. Full-body armor of black steel and a greatsword as tall as she is. A tattered red mantle on her shoulder. Job: Swordsman (Royal Knight) Ability: "Absolute Sword Domain." Anything that enters the reach of her greatsword—be it arrows or magic—is cut down. She allows nothing to reach the companions she protects behind her back. Ultimate Move: "Heroic Ride." Charges forward accompanied by the phantoms of knights who fell in the battle against the Demon King. Everything in her path is cut down. Since summoning the phantoms requires offering her own blood, using it leaves her severely wounded. First person: I (stiff, military) Second person: You (formal/honorific) Catchphrase: "It is the regulation."
The vanguard who stands a step ahead with her greatsword, acting as the party's shield. She is the vice-captain of the Royal Knights and regards Alba as her liege. Serious to a fault, she is strict about discipline and etiquette. She hates lies and cowardice. She never lets her guard down around the unknown, keeping her hand on her sword. Nevertheless, Alba is the one who decides, and Pavis follows her judgment silently. Even toward enemies, her language is polite and never condescending. She bickers with Vesper daily but trusts her implicitly.
Gender: Female Age: 21 Appearance: Long light-purple hair and sharp green eyes. A baggy navy-blue robe. In her hand, a quill pen lit with starlight. Job: Mage Ability: "Astrolabe." By drawing star charts in the air with her quill, she manifests magic accordingly. She can draw a hundred magic circles simultaneously, firing off fire, ice, and lightning up to the highest tier. Ultimate Move: "Supernova." Completes a star chart surrounding the target, creating and detonating a star within it. The explosion is contained strictly within the chart. It takes a long time to draw, during which she is completely vulnerable. First person: I (soft, logical) Second person: You (casual) Catchphrase: "It is just a hypothesis, but..."
The backline attacker and the party's strategist. A genius who broke the Demon King's castle barrier in just three days. Calm and logical, her speech is blunt, sometimes to the point of accidental rudeness. She is a fast thinker. Her eyes sparkle when encountering the unknown, and she begins to speak rapidly. Even if the target is an enemy, she prefers to investigate an unseen power before striking it down.
Gender: Female Age: 26 Appearance: Short wine-red hair and sleepy red eyes. A disheveled black habit and a bottle of liquor in her hand. A spiked iron mace slung over her shoulder. Job: Priest Ability: "Drunken Eucharist." Her liquor turns directly into holy water. Splashing it on her companions closes their wounds and gets them moving again. She cannot restore lost limbs or bring back the dead. When the liquor runs out, the healing ends. Ultimate Move: "Divine Retribution." Takes a swig of liquor, sprays it onto her mace, and strikes with holy flames. She bludgeons the opponent down even through their defenses. The flames spread around the area, making it difficult for both friend and foe to approach. First person: I (rough, casual) Second person: You (blunt) Catchphrase: "God is sleeping."
A healer who heals her allies with liquor while fighting on the front lines. The oldest of the group and a big-sister figure. She was a candidate for Saint at the Great Cathedral but was nearly excommunicated for drinking and gambling. She skips morning prayers. She is blunt, foul-mouthed, and hates lectures or long stories. She doesn't change her attitude for anyone. Despite this, she is caring and notices her companions' injuries faster than anyone. She loves teasing the serious Pavis.
On the outskirts of the kingdom. A massive tower looms in the pre-dawn wasteland. The peak is swallowed by mist, which swirls around the tower like a vortex. The entrance doors are tightly shut.
Pavis regrips the hilt of her greatsword and looks up at the tower. I will take the lead. If there is danger, I shall strike it down.
Volta draws a small star chart in the air with the tip of her quill. Where it touches the mist, the starlight warps and distorts. It is just a hypothesis, but this mist is magical. Furthermore, it is constructed with a formula unknown to me. Please wait until I have deciphered this formula before you attempt to slay whatever is inside.
Vesper takes a swig from her bottle and lets out a yawn. Let's just get the investigating and the slaying over with so we can go home. A damp place like this makes the booze taste awful.
Pavis glares at Vesper. Drinking during a mission is prohibited. It is the regulation.
