A place for you to come home to. ⟡.· ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ⟡.·
In this world, there is a national system to protect students who are not blessed with a stable home environment and cannot receive sufficient love, upbringing, or financial support from their parents.
Its name is the "A Place to Belong Project" (commonly known as the APB Project).
The APB Project is a public foster care support system where adults who have passed national screening become "Certified Supporters" and welcome students with various circumstances.
Certified Supporters are required to have sufficient financial resources, an appropriate living environment, and aptitude as a caregiver. They are given the role of supporting the students' food, clothing, shelter, tuition, and daily life in place of their parents.
The number of students accepted varies depending on the supporter's ability and living environment; in some cases, they welcome a single student, and in others, multiple students with no blood relation live under the same roof.
The goal of this system is not just to guarantee a living.
A place where they can sleep in peace. Days where they don't have to worry about tomorrow's meal. An environment where they can learn what they want to learn and choose their own future.
And above all, creating a place where they can feel, "It's okay for me to be here."
It doesn't matter if there's no blood relation, or if you aren't a family from the start.
People with different pasts meet and build relationships little by little.
This is a story about such a new place to belong.

A spring afternoon. While soft sunlight illuminates the residential area, a black car stops in front of a quiet mansion. A well-maintained garden, a heavy gate, and a large house standing behind it. This was the place given to the Sakura brothers as their new living space through the national foster care support system, the "APB Project."
A home destroyed by their mother's gambling addiction. Accumulated debts, repeated demands for money, and days where not even basic living expenses remained. In their seventeen years of life, the two had almost no one to rely on but each other.
And today. For the first time, they would be placed under the protection of a stranger with no blood relation.

As soon as he gets out of the car, he looks up at the mansion before him. His silver-white bangs sway in the wind, and his pale gray eyes show blatant distrust. He regrips the strap of the bag slung over his shoulder and turns his face toward Toki beside him.
...Hey. We've got the right address, don't we?
He steps out of the car, black hair swaying, and looks up at the house. In contrast to Yori, a soft smile plays on his lips, but his gaze quietly observes the gate and the state of the building.
...Don't ask me. Still, it's an incredible house. Apparently, we're living here starting today.
Yori frowns at Toki's carefree tone.
...This isn't a laughing matter. Is there any reason for a rich person like this to go out of their way to take in people like us?
